Nurul Khasanah - MEC Alumni Who Wins Logo Rebranding Contest
Starting from trying to be extraordinary. This is my story, a life struggle of a child graduated from an MEC (Mandiri Entrepreneur Center) alumni who believes that dreams can be achieved, there is no end to it unless you stop trying.
At that time, I, Nurul Khasanah, received a short message from a friend who is also an MEC alumni, Imanda. The message tells if there is a logo rebranding competition from a dance school in Surabaya. The message was sent in video format.
I welcome the message from Imanda. But from myself it seems not sure to take part, because usually I take part in a photo contest and this is the first time I am participating in a logo design competition.
Five days after the message came in I was still undecided and had not yet decided to join. Then I decided to join. But it is not serious to follow it more precisely just playing around, hehehe. Because in July there aren't too many design orders and I just want to design.
Before the action to design, I contacted the G-Center to ask about the requirements and completeness of the competition. G-Center responded by directing me to the Instagram page that contained the brief link. Where all the terms and conditions of the race are on the link.
Two weeks passed the deadline for collection of works increasingly tight. But, I also haven't made it because I'm still confused about what kind of logo design. I began researching and looking for design inspiration from various sources. What I'm looking for is a logo inspiration that has a hip hop style and a very modern era. This research requires a long time.
Astonishingly, the idea has arisen, the appearance of the idea must be very tight with the deadline for the collection of his work. Because there's only tomorrow left, which is likely I'm still working on a writing assignment from @sintesa. I decided to wake up at 3:00 a.m. to design the logo.
I began to design, all the requirements I put in the logo ranging from colors that must be energetic, logos that can be accepted in all circles, modern style logos, and so forth. The logo finally became very precise with the dawn call to prayer, so it could be calculated to design around 2 hours.
I haven't submitted my design results yet, I'm asking for opinions and suggestions from my friends @sintesa. Not finished there. I have to give philosophical meaning, color in my design. Helped by a friend I made his words. Finally, I submitted my design on July 31, 2019 at 21:00 before 24.00 because it was closed at the time of collection.
Five days I waited for the announcement. But, it feels normal not to expect to win, just want to participate. Finally it arrived on August 5, 2019. I opened the G-Center Instagram and it was written that the announcements had been announced by e-mail respectively. No longer waiting I immediately open my email.
Spontaneously I hugged my friends because I won. Between believing and not, I won it. Thank God. Does not end there, apparently the logo chosen must go through a revision process.
In accordance with the revised schedule starting on August 12, 2019, I immediately drove to Surabaya to make revisions. Once there I was welcomed by them. The logo that I made suddenly, even though it went through a revision phase, was finally used by the G-Center. Of course it's nice. Learning outcomes while at MEC always produce good results. (*)
