"O ye who believe, it is obligatory for you to fast as has been required of the people before you, so that you will be devoted." (Qur'an 2: 183)
As Muslims, we should welcome the arrival of Ramadan this year with joy. Because God willing, the opportunity to enjoy the Ramadhan is returned.
The main target of Ramadan worship, as mentioned in the verse above is the more steady devotion to Allah SWT. As a manifestation of that joy, this time we should not miss Ramadhan without activities that can increase our self, family and community devotion to Allah SWT. So, we must do preparations in that direction.
We must make Ramadhan full of blessings as a momentum to do Ilallah taqarrub (get closer to Allah), both with repentance, munajat and carrying out a number of worship and solemnly. That is to provide the best service to the community, so that our lives can truly be felt by others. And we can make improvements in society from time to time, both the improvement of ourselves, family, society and nation and state. At least, there are three things we must prepare.
First, by conditioning oneself, family and society to welcome and fill the Ramadhan which is mubarok with various activities that can strengthen devotion. Personally there are a number of things that are done, namely to maintain the physical condition to stay healthy so that we can carry out the Ramadhan worship such as fasting, tarawih and others because if it hurts, it is very difficult for us to carry out various Ramadhan activities which are very demanding for physical readiness.
Then remember or review the jurisprudence related to Ramadhan worship, so that the implementation can work well because it is based on good understanding. Continuing to immediately pay or pay fasting for certain reasons cannot be carried out during Ramadhan last year. And condition yourself by performing worship services such as circumcision fasting in the month of Sya'ban, tadarus Al-Quran and so on. Then, forgive each other with fellow Muslims, so that in entering Ramadhan, we have erased our sins with our fellow humans and only complete sins to Allah SWT. So that when Ramadhan ends and the Eid Al-Fitr arrives, we are truly in a state of fitrah or holiness.
Second, do various activities that can draw closer to Allah SWT, such as fasting, tarawih and witir, praying, tilawah, khataman Al-Quran, Iafaf the last ten days and so on. Besides that, Ramadan activities must also be able to strengthen relationships with others, such as zakat, infaq and sadaqah, ifthar (breaking fast) together and others. Also very important is the effort to improve the quality and quantity of da'wah activities.
Third, Ba'da Ramadhan, which is to follow up on Ramadan activities so that Ramadan does not end without something significant. Ba'da Ramadhan activities which are intended to provide deep traces include organizing takbiran as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad, not takbiran which is rah-rah and contains the value of disobedience, performing Eid prayer which takes place in a special way, calling for or reminding Muslims of value - Ramadan value. And strengthen the harmony between families and Muslim communities in order to grow a spirit of togetherness in carrying out Islamic teachings. (*)
