Muhammad Haspullah - MEC Alumni who Successfully Become Branding Consultants
Muhammad Haspullah (owner of Atan Consultant Branding), is a simple young man, an MEC (Mandiri Entrepreneur Center) alumni who deals in the world of branding. His name is quite famous around Surabaya, Sidoarjo, to Pasuruan as a branding practitioner. The orphan who is familiarly called Asful was born in the city of Santri, Pasuruan on April 28, 1993.
He grew up in a simple family environment in the countryside. But who would have thought, the village boy was able to morph into a professional branding practitioner.
Talking about the biography of this young man, it cannot be separated from his struggle to achieve independence and success. The story can also be an inspiration for young people now.
When Asful sat in the third grade of high school, the father died of a heart attack. At that time, he felt really desperate after the departure of his father. In his mind, he wanted to drop out of school. And choose to work to help his mother.
However, his decision was not supported by his brother. The brother wants Asful to finish his school, even though he has to work too. "At that time my brother said, education is important for your future," he said mimicking the words of his brother at that time.
After graduating from high school, he went to the island of Madura to try his luck. In Madura, Asful tried his luck by selling calligraphy paintings. For 1 year he sold calligraphy and collected money, which he hoped for the cost of continuing his undergraduate education.
However, that desire must be delayed first. Because his heart prefers to register at the Mandiri Entrepreneur Center (MEC), which is an educational program for orphans from Yatim Mandiri.
At MEC, Asful was accepted in the Graphic Design Department. Although the first choice option would be to study culinary majors. He learned and learned graphic design for the first time at MEC. Asful actually knows a lot about modern graphic design using computers and applications. "But because I still didn't understand technology, if I made calligraphy, I would paint it," he continued, smiling.
After graduating from MEC, Asful worked for Yatim Mandiri Magazine for 1 year. In addition to work, Asful also studied at the University of August 17, Surabaya, Department of Architecture. For up to self grading, he had at that time participated in a workshop that could make a brand with speakers Soebiakto Priosoedarsono. "I was interested in the work colleagues who had previously attended the workshop. And it turned out that the workshop could provide a big change for me. Finally, I decided to resign from the workplace and chose to become an entrepreneur," said Asful.
Asful also started pioneering a business engaged in brand, logo and graphic design. With the name Atan Consultant Branding, he began to explore the UKM sector as the main segment of his consumers. "Alhamdulillah, there are already clients who entrust my services," he said.
The effort that was released in 2016, has now reaped results. there are at least 300 clients who have entrusted the services of Atan Branding Consultants. The Klein does not only come from Surabaya, but has spread to Bangka Belitung, Lombok and Makasaar. The monthly profit from the Atan Branding Consultant can reach 30 million Rupiah. "Alhamdulillah, the result is that I can dispatch my mother's umroh, and build a house in the village," Asful said.
Not only that, Asful also made achievements in his hometown. These achievements were in the form of contributions in participating in the 2017 MTQ East Java grand event. He designed the East Java MTQ 2017. Through a long process, Asful tried to make the best design for this East Java annual event. "Alhamdulillah, I can contribute to my hometown. The Regent of Pasuruan is also very happy with the results of the design," he said proudly.
In addition, he also participated in the food and beverage packaging design competition held by the Disnaker at the East Java Province. The packaging design made it into the list of the best 5 general categories. Then the top 5 winners, representing the Asian packaging design competition, and managed to get ranked in the top 50 of Asia.
Asful feels what has been achieved now, not separated from Yatim Mandiri. For him, Yatim Mandiri's contribution to fostering orphans is very good. Especially with the MEC program. "I thank Yatim Mandiri, especially for donors. Without an Yatim Mandiri, maybe I will have trouble. "Hopefully Yatim Mandiri will always provide benefits for Indonesian orphans," he hoped. (*)
