Setyaningrum - Mandiri After Graduating from the MEC Program
Left by the father while still needing love and attention, is something that does not want to be accepted by every child. Every child wants her father to stay, see her beloved baby grow, and achieve success.
But this cannot be felt by Setyaningrum, an alumni of the MEC (Mandiri Entrepreneur Center) of Class XIII. The girl who is familiarly called Ningrum must feel the bitterness left by her father. When he was still in Class 1 Elementary School, the father died of hypertension.
The death of her father was also very sudden. There is no sign that the father will leave forever. "The mother said at the time saying goodbye to Ponorogo to go home to grandma's house, 1 hour passed when the mother got word that she fainted on the bus and was taken to the hospital. While at the hospital, my father was unconscious, then my father passed away, "Ningrum said in memory of his past.
After the death of her father, the trial returned to the Ningrum family. After a few days, the older brother had an accident. "Although it wasn't so severe, my mother was very worried about my sister. Especially when that brother also wants to get married, "he added. The life of the Setyaningrum family after her father's departure was very mediocre. Her mother who works as a farm laborer must work hard to meet the family's economy. Even though he was assisted by her first brother, but still lacking. Luckily, at that time Ningrum received a scholarship from Yatim Mandiri Madiun. That way can help ease the burden on his mother. "From middle school to high school I got BESTARI," she said.
Like most teenage girls, after graduating from high school, Ningrum was eager to be able to continue to study. But what is the power, the cost that is not small for college limits his desire. She also worked to help her mother. "I graduated from high school I worked for 1 year. First I want to be independent. Second is to help mothers too," she said.
The desire to go to college was only spoken when Ningrum prayed to Allah SWT. "In prayer I always ask to be able to go to college. Because God planned the best for servants," she continued.
Ningrum's prayer was heard by Allah SWT, she got information from Yatim Mandiri Madiun about the education program, namely the Mandiri Entrepreneur Center (MEC). At that time Ningrum was still working, then met a person from Yatim Mandiri Madiun. After getting the information, she then followed the MEC registration and selection at Yatim Mandiri Madiun. "After getting the news, the next day I immediately register," she said.
Following the selection process held by Yatim Mandiri Madiun, starting from the working session to the interview. After one week has passed, then the announcement of the test results appears. At that time Ningrum's feelings were very happy, she had passed the selection and was accepted at the MEC Accounting Education Program in Surabaya. This good news was delivered to her mother who was also happy.
The education program at the MEC only lasts one year. All that is taught is to prepare for independence in starting a business or career.
During her time as a student at MEC, a lot of knowledge and experience gained. Starting from the science of accounting, Islam, and also an entrepreneur. "I have never felt the name sell around, then I got it here. Yes, initially I was shy about having to offer items, but because the routine every week became familiar," she said.
Now Ningrum has completed an education program at MEC. She was grateful, no need to wait a long time, the job offer came for him. At that time, he was offered to work at Jakad Publishing. The opportunity was not wasted by Ningrum. She accepted the offer to work at Jakad Publishing. Initially she worked as a financial admin. Then she served as editorial book. "Now I am becoming an offline marketing whose job is to visit campuses," she explained.
She was very grateful that the provisions given at MEC were very useful when working. One of them is how to build relationships with other people. She got this knowledge while at MEC. Every Saturday or Sunday, MEC often holds motivational workshops and seminars. The speakers are young entrepreneurs and trainers from one agency or company. "I remember at that time there was training about establishing communication with consumers. I apply the knowledge from there now in my work," she said.
From work, Ningrum can have enough income to save and to help her mother. In addition to working at Jakad Publishing, Ningrum is also a mentor for the girls' dormitory at MEC Surabaya. Now his hope is that she wants to be able to continue her education to the undergraduate level. "I pray that I can go to college and hopefully my prayer will be granted by God," she concluded. (IRS)
