Bees are unique animals. There are many things we can learn from a bee which is an animal that has many benefits.
You simply observe the hardworking creature. Then you will get great lessons about how to be successful. That was stated by a professor at Tamil Agricultural Stretcher University, Dr. N Ganapathy.
According to him, by adopting the work ethic of bees, a worker, even a company, can get great success. Many lessons can be learned from how bees work, namely:
1. Division of tasks
Bees have a structured social environment. Each bee has their respective roles and job desks, as well as mastering their roles well. Genetically they are programmed not to violate areas that are not their authority.
If a worker is able to know his role in the company well and master the role, then his performance will increase and slowly lead him to success. Likewise if a company is able to implement this, there will be no role conflict.
Despite having different roles, swarms of bees only have one common goal. So is the company. The leader must be able to clearly describe professional goals. So that employees with a variety of roles together move for a definite goal in the future.
2. The spirit of cooperation
Cooperation for bees is more important than competition. Unlike today, the world of work is full of competition. Especially in large and active companies.
Many are paranoid, as if their position will be displaced if they don't compete. But not for bees. They knew that they could not reach their goals alone. So that they work together and live harmoniously with their colleagues.
Likewise with employees and companies. Uniting knowledge and experience. And working together will make work effective. No conflicts have occurred. Each person respects the contribution and role of his partner.
Loyalty is the key to long-term survival. Bees are loyal to the work they do. If they need a long time to take honey from one flower, then they will do it continuously.
Good workers must also be loyal to their work. Not easy to turn and persevere. Likewise employees who work for companies, must be loyal to the rules, such as working hours.
4. Work hard
The working bee will continue to work diligently, as if the fate of the herd is at stake in his hand. There is no success that can be achieved without hard work and perseverance.
Those who are lazing will only be left behind and displaced by those who work hard. Working hard also means working professionally and effectively in using work time.
5. On time
Timeliness is a general professional ethic that is not infrequently violated by everyone. For bees, it shouldn't be too late. They depend on the sun when looking for food, so the bees will leave when the sun rises and returns at sunset. Timely is the way bees to get optimal results.
Likewise for workers or company employees. Timely will also provide optimal results. Because workers use their time effectively. Besides that, on time, we will not experience stress due to being late.
6. Putting obligations first
For bees, the interests of the herd are those that must be prioritized first, then their personal interests. They work to take honey for the benefit of the herd. Likewise with bees in charge of guarding the nest. Everything is done for the sake of the herd. It might look unpleasant because you have to sacrifice a lot.
However, by prioritizing the interests of the herd, the bee's work system runs smoothly. Because everyone put aside his personal ego and together build his flock. Try to imagine if the guard bee doesn't want to keep the nest because of its ego? Then the nest and all herds will be threatened with damage and death.
